The multi award-winning Affinity Quartet produces chamber music experiences of international calibre, championing new interpretations of the great works and innovative contemporary composers. The Quartet has a reputation for flawless technique and as “one of the most promising chamber ensembles of the present generation.''
In this special program, Affinity Quartet explores rarely performed and evocative piano quartets by Mahler, Strauss and Peter Sculthorpe. Quartet founders Nicholas Waters (violin) and Mee Na Lojewski (cello) are joined by acclaimed Welsh pianist Rhodri Clarke and Tom Higham, Associate Principal Viola of Orchestra Victoria. These four exceptional musicians bring fresh energy to Romantic and contemporary chamber works.
